(More customer reviews)The Galco Summer Comfort is another quality holster made by Galco to conceal the 1911 platform.Constructed of thick, high quality leather with the rough side inside and button snaps to stabilize the holster on your belt, this holster is both comfortable and durable for daily wear.The 3.5 inch design allows a Colt 1911 Officer (3"), Commander (4.25") and a Government (5") (or for the Kimber followers, the Ultra (3"), Pro (4") or Standard (5")) barrel to be carried.Obviously, the longer slide will protrude below the holster but the key to concealment, for me, is to shroud the trigger guard.For me, this allows the flexibility for all three types of 1911 pistols.

One of the most important items to get for a holster of this design is to have a sturdy belt designed for carrying holsters.Standard "off the shelf" belts will not be stiff enough to support the weight of your loaded pistol.

This holster does require a break in period to relax the holster.The fastest way to loosen up the holster is by placing your dry pistol in a plastic grocery bag and putting it into the holster.Leaving it in the holster for a day or so will loosen the holster enough for you.
